Week Five - Better Homes and Gardens One Room Challenge. Sneak Peeks - Literally.
Like so many, we are coming down the home stretch for the One Room Challenge. A few close up looks at the things we are wrapping up:
Nightstands
Nightstands almost done |
Our before shot of Lowes nightstands |
The dimensions were right, so Kevin used three coats of Cabinet Coat (love that stuff) and decided to gild the handles rather than look for new. Charles Douglas Gilding Studios (@gildingstudio on Instagram) teaches old school gilding and Kevin took some classes there a while ago.

Headboard
We couldn't find the right sized headboard, so ending up making one out of oak. Pretty simple and basic, but we love it.
It smells really good too! |
Art
There is one large wall that currently has nothing on it. Kevin has started on a plaster art piece. We are using LusterStone, a Faux Effects product, in various tones. Below is just the beginning.
We are hoping to have this wrapped up next week, but appreciate the extra time we were given. Will be fun to show the whole room! As always, be sure and check out everyone else at One Room Challenge.
Ciao, moltobene wife
