Kitchen Cabinet Makeovers

When it comes to adding value to a home, kitchen makeovers have always been high on the list. The degree of makeover in terms of time and expense can range from resurfacing cabinets to changing out existing cabinets, counter tops & appliances while keeping everything in the same locations to a complete gut and reconfigure.

Time and costs can vary widely. The three main reasons for a makeover in the kitchen are
  1. It needs an update which will
  2. increase value and
  3. increase aesthetic.
A very aesthetic, cost effective and unique way of achieving this is to create a custom finish for the existing cabinets. If the cabinets are kind of drab and rundown but still very functional, this is the way to go.

For starters, if you get new cabinets-besides the extra cost - the old ones will need to be ripped out which makes a mess and adds time.  Also, Besides some wood design difference, your color choices are usually variations of brown, natural, white and black, which makes for a clean but boring look. How much of an upgrade is this from the existing?

With a custom finish, we do the following

  1. Have you look over samples and determine what type of look or finish you would like ( there's a lot to choose from)
  2.  From there we make samples coming up with the exact color and look you want. You will get a door sample that you can leave in the kitchen for a day or so to make sure you really like it.
  3. Once we have an approved sample, we'll come in and take all the doors and drawers off and back to our shop for prep sanding and sealer coats. We'll do the same in the kitchen on the sides of the cabinets – since there isn't that much to do on site it doesn't take as long and isn't that messy.
  4. Then we apply the layers needed to create the custom finish and sealer coat as needed.
  5.  We reinstall the doors, drawers etc. and bada bing you have new kitchen cabinets with a unique finish all your own. You could replace the counter, get new appliances etc as needed to complete the effect.
